JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the CBPF-funded Health, Nutrition, and WASH project in Northern State. The position ensures timely implementation, coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH) and Sails of Hope (SoH) as the local partner, and full compliance with MedGlobal and donor regulations.
The PM is responsible for delivering high-quality, integrated services and ensuring alignment with humanitarian cluster strategies, national health priorities, and MedGlobal’s country strategy.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic and Technical Leadership:
• Lead planning, implementation, and monitoring of all project activities across Health, Nutrition, and WASH sectors.
• Ensure quality assurance, adherence to national and donor guidelines, and integration between program components.
• Provide technical oversight and coordination to field teams to achieve project targets and results.
• Liaise with the Programe Manager/ Country Director (CD) to align field operations with MedGlobal’s strategic objectives.
2. Project Management and Coordination
• Oversee day-to-day management of project operations and field teams.
• Ensure effective coordination with SoH (local partner) and the State Ministry of Health for smooth implementation and joint supervision.
• Coordinate with support departments (Finance, HR, Logistics, MEAL) to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
• Lead monthly review meetings with sector leads and Finance to monitor progress against targets, budget, and timelines.
• Facilitate donor visibility, field visits, and reporting obligations in coordination with HoP and CD.
3. Budget and Grant Management
• Lead budget planning, expenditure tracking, and financial forecasting in collaboration with Finance.
• Ensure strict compliance with CBPF/OCHA financial and procurement guidelines.
• Conduct monthly Budget vs Actual (BvA) reviews and adjust plans as needed to ensure efficient fund utilization.
• Review and approve purchase requests, activity budgets, and partner advances in line with MedGlobal’s policies.
4.  Partnership and Representation
• Act as the primary focal point for coordination with SoH and relevant government authorities.
• Represent MedGlobal in local cluster coordination meetings and sectoral working groups.
• Maintain strong communication with cluster leads, UN agencies, and donors to ensure coordination and complementarity.
• Support partner capacity building, mentorship, and joint planning sessions.
5.  Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
• Ensure timely submission of activity reports, success stories, and donor deliverables.
• Work closely with MEAL staff to monitor indicators, verify data, and maintain accurate records.
• Participate in field monitoring visits and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Contribute to donor reports, situation updates, and proposals as required.
6. Compliance, Risk, and Quality Assurance
• Ensure all project activities adhere to MedGlobal’s Code of Conduct, Safeguarding, and Security Policies.
• Identify risks and constraints affecting program delivery and escalate to HoP/CD with mitigation measures.
• Promote accountability to affected populations and ensure community feedback mechanisms are functional.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine, Project Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in humanitarian project management, preferably in health or nutrition programming.
• Proven experience in managing donor-funded projects (CBPF, ECHO, USAID, etc.).
• Strong understanding of the Sudan health system, cluster coordination, and local NGO partnerships.
• Demonstrated leadership, coordination, and team management skills.
Skills and Competencies:
• Strong analytical, planning, and reporting abilities.
• Excellent communication and representation skills in English and Arabic.
• Advanced budget management and MS Office skills.
• Ability to work independently in high-pressure, insecure environments.
Key Deliverables
• Project implemented according to approved work plan and budget.
• Monthly technical and financial reports submitted on time.
• Regular coordination meetings held with SoH and MoH.
• Documented lessons learned and success stories shared with HoP and CD.
